Wikis, Blogs, and Podcasts: Workshop Updates

This post is intended for those that attended our last workshop titled: “Using Wikis, Blogs, and Podcasting to Enhance Teaching and Learning” [http://www.cte.usf.edu/workshops/#wikipod].

Thumbs Up!
Good News:
Before this workshop, we were assured by USF Blog administrators that all USF faculty and students could have their own USF Blog Space. However, during the workshop some faculty were unable to create a USF Blog even though they had a USF netID. I inquired with USF Blog Admins, they investigated the issue, and came up with the following resolution:

The server that houses the blogs is primarily the student web and email server, so accounts are not automatically generated for faculty. Faculty will first have to get a mail.usf.edu account and then activate their USF Blog Space (see attachments below for directions). To get a mail.usf.edu account, faculty will need to send the following info to usg@mailman.acomp.usf.edu –

– Full name
– Affliation with USF (student, staff, faculty, etc)
– NetID
– USF Email Address

So this is great news! Send out the email at your earliest convenience so that you can start blogging and podcasting.
